The best outdoor spaces are planned as one build: patio, fire feature, seating, and lighting conduit laid out together so nothing is an afterthought. We design and build the whole space in-house — one crew from excavation to the first fire.
Fire pits get real construction: a concrete footing, block core, firebrick or steel liner, and stone or veneer facing with a capped edge that's comfortable to sit at. Wood-burning or gas-ready, round or square, matched to your patio's material.
Sitting walls, columns, and outdoor kitchen bases follow the same rule — masonry cores built to structure, faced to match, capped to shed water. At the Shore, everything we build outside is specced for salt air and freeze-thaw from the start.
Straight answers.
Wood-burning or gas fire pit?
Wood gives you the real fire experience and simpler construction; gas lights instantly and may be preferred where wood smoke is restricted. Local rules vary by town — we'll flag anything your municipality requires before we build.
Can you add a fire pit to my existing patio?
Usually, yes. We cut in a proper footing, build the pit, and patch the surround so it reads as part of the original design. The site visit tells us what your slab or pavers will allow.
Do you design the space or just build it?
Both. We lay out the space with you at the site walk — dimensions, materials, traffic flow, fire feature placement — and the written proposal reflects that plan. Design, prep, install, and finish stay with one crew.
