What we build

Retaining Walls done right.

Segmental block walls

Engineered SRW systems with geogrid layers for structural grade changes.

Natural stone walls

Dry-stack and mortared stone walls that hold grade and look like they grew there.

Boulder walls

Machine-set boulder walls for rugged, high-mass retention.

Garden & terrace walls

Planter and terrace walls that turn slopes into usable yard.

Sitting walls & pillars

Freestanding walls and pillars that frame patios and entries.

Wall rebuilds

Tear-out and rebuild of bulging or failed walls — with the drainage they were missing.

How we work

Retaining walls fail for one reason more than any other: water trapped behind them. Every wall we build gets clean stone backfill, drainage fabric, and weep outlets, with geogrid reinforcement layered into taller walls so the soil and wall work as one mass.

We build in segmental block systems, natural stone, and boulder walls — from garden terraces and driveway walls to structural grade changes. Base courses are set on compacted stone, dead level, because everything above the first course inherits its mistakes.

Taller walls can trigger engineering and permit requirements in New Jersey. We'll flag that early, work with the town, and build to the drawings — no guesswork on something holding back tons of soil.

Questions

Straight answers.

Why is my retaining wall leaning or bulging?

Almost always trapped water and missing reinforcement — hydrostatic pressure pushes the wall out a little more every freeze. A leaning wall rarely fixes itself; we'll assess whether yours can be rebuilt in place and quote it in writing.

Do retaining walls need a permit or engineering in NJ?

Many towns require permits above a certain height, and taller structural walls may need engineered drawings. We'll tell you what your project triggers and handle the process with the town.

What does a retaining wall cost?

Height, length, access, soil, and material drive the price, so honest numbers come from a site visit. Quotes are free, written, and line-item — including excavation, base, drainage, and geogrid, not just the visible face.
